OPEN KITCHEN FILMS is a sales company based in Marseille (France), Akranes (Iceland) and Ljubljana (Slovenia),

stretching the possibilities of creative documentary distribution to its maximum potential.

Being a company founded by experts from different sides of the industry, we share the expectations of directors and producers looking to reach an audience.

We aim to work with uncommon POVs, challenging subjects, diversity in style; and directors with a clear artistic approach, standing behind the creative force of filmmakers.

Most of our films are international co-productions, like our kitchen is multi-cultural.

We cover all aspects of distribution, festival strategies and international sales.

Martina Droandi

Martina Droandi is a sales agent for documentary films, currently based in a train between Austria and Italy.

While obtaining a BA in Anthropology and Music (SOAS, UK) she began turning her interest towards visual anthropology first,

and documentary after, still driven by a strong curiosity for people and their worlds.

She was granted a scholarship for the joint-master DOCNOMADS,

during which she grew fond of trying to make sense of the mysterious industry side of things.

She started in sales and distribution by helping friends with festival submissions of their shorts,

Slowly turning it into a career, while flirting as well with the idea of production (Was Bleibt by Chiara Fleischhacker & Milena Aboyan).

Eight European countries later, in 2019 she landed in Austria, where she worked at Autlook Filmsales as Sales and Acquisition Manager.

Since June 2024, she has been seen collaborating with Victor, Ingibjörg and Petra into making DysFlims thrive.

She’s an Alumni of the Atelier Ludwigsburg- Paris (2018) and Locarno Industry Academy (2021).

She loves consulting filmmakers and producers on strategies, contracts and sales matters of any kind.
